Implementing Partner for USAID's Kenya Investment Mechanism - KIM
Lattice partners with USAID to provide technical assistance for the $ 563 million Kenya Investment Mechanism (KIM) project. KIM is a five-year USAID initiative aimed at facilitating investments in key sectors of Kenya’s economy, including horticulture, dairy, livestock, health and WASH by mobilizing private investment and accelerating enterprise-driven development.
Key Interventions
Unlocking Finance Across Value Chains
- Scope: Facilitated access to finance across 14 value chains in Kenya.
- Impact: $563 million mobilized and unlocked for investment.
Building Capacity in Financial Institutions
- Scope: Trained over 3,000 bankers across various sectors, including dairy, horticulture, livestock, Water and Sanitation, and Health.
- Impact: Unlocked over $400 million in financing through these trainings.
Supporting Business Advisory Service Providers (BASPs)
- Scope: Delivered specialized trainings focusing on SME lending/investing, new product development, gender mainstreaming, and utilization of DFC guarantees and other risk-mitigation tools.
- Impact: Enhanced the capabilities of BASPs and other KIM partners.
Training County Governments
- Scope: Provided training on value chain finance to county governments from the 14 Feed the Future (FtF) counties identified by USAID.
